BEST PRIMARY SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD IN DURGAPUR, WEST BENGAL
At ODM International School, we teach, encourage, and model your children a love of learning, collaboration, and compassion for others.
As one of the best primary schools in Durgapur, West Bengal, our primary curriculum strongly emphasises conceptual learning, as this is where the skills acquired in the Early Year Programme are applied. Students are introduced to a new curriculum each year as they progress from std-I to std-V in primary school. This curriculum of our top primary school is designed to promote advanced learning. This phase serves as a transition between the conceptual learning and career development phases.
Everything learned in our primary school will lay the groundwork for students to pursue their dreams. Consequently, every aspect of 360-degree education, i.e. academics, instilling values, discipline, etc., is closely monitored during this phase. The development of students' comprehensive abilities during their elementary school years enhances their personal and academic goals
Our curriculum is meticulously designed to provide young students with a thorough understanding of the subjects that will have a lasting impact on their lives. We achieve this through our innovative teaching methods, which emphasise the application of concepts and create a hands-on learning environment for students through the use of learning kits and practical methods.
ODM International School has combined classroom teaching with consistent home assignments to help students learn to control their own behaviour and develop self-discipline. Moreover, students are required to complete and submit graded worksheets consistently using the ODMConnect Learning Management System portal. Final exams and any necessary doubt-clearing sessions will be administered according to a predetermined schedule.
Daily Curriculum Plan
Every year, before classes begin, teachers and administrators compile a comprehensive Daily Curriculum Plan outlining what students will learn in each class. This contributes to a more consistent standard of instruction across classrooms. Parents are also kept in the loop about school happenings through these Plans.
POC & Class Mentors' Responsibilities
Teachers in charge of a classroom must keep tabs on each student's development. To keep tabs on their students' overall progress outside of the classroom, they have regular verbal check-ins with parents every two weeks. Hygiene tasks include daily attendance marking and making sure students are clean and wearing the right uniforms. Teachers also make sure they have up-to-date phone numbers for parents on file in case of any unexpected situations. By relaying the child's development and needs to the parents, they serve as a vital link in the child's social network. In cases where a pupil has been absent for more than two days, teachers are obligated to notify their families by mail.
Homework and Question Booklets
Students will have homework assignments outside of class that they must complete before moving on to the next subject. Having students do this helps them develop a sense of self-discipline. In addition, ODM has created Question Booklets for students in higher classes to help them become acclimated to the format of the CBSE Board Examination.
LMS and Supportive Resources
Teachers can make classroom presentations available to their students through ODMConnect's Learning Management System. In addition, students can have their teachers grade their uploaded worksheets online.
Classroom with Activity-Based Learning Environment
Teachers use an activity-based approach to improve student learning in as many areas as possible. According to research, experiential learning boosts students' capacity for learning retention. First, students are advised in advance if they must bring any items for the activity. Then, depending on the scope and suitability of the task, teachers describe the activity, which is subsequently completed by the students in groups or individually or by the teachers as a demonstration to the class. Following the presentation, the instructor provides students with a summary and clarifies the underlying notion.
Doubt Clearing
ODMConnect enables students to submit questions, which are subsequently addressed online or in person by teachers. Teachers can contribute voice notes, photos, or written comments in the case of virtual solutions. During examination preparation leave, online doubt-clearing workshops for all topics are organised to resolve students' last-minute questions. This class is held in small groups to ensure individualised attention.
Special Academic Initiatives
As the best primary school in Durgapur, West Bengal, ODM International School acknowledges that not every student is the same and possesses the same potential. Therefore, keeping in mind their individuality and diverse learning needs, we operate distinct sessions for high achievers and for pupils who require additional support. While the former seeks to prepare students for Olympiads and other competitive examinations, the latter seeks to build the student's foundation in order to facilitate their current and future academic success.
Ensuring Academic Quality
At ODM, we have a guidebook titled "Teacher's Notes," in which there is a pre-documented note for each class, subject, and session outlining the flow of each session, the topics to be taught, and the learning outcomes. This helps ensure consistency and quality of teaching across teachers.
